Last year we started a tax revolt and an orginization called http://www.PrimaryChallenge.org where we helped regular everyday people get on the ballot to run against the incumbents.
We had 6 candidates running and won 2 primaries.
I was narrowly defeated by the political machine in one part of the district by a heavy margin, enough that I couldn't make it up in the rest of the district. How can I say no when people are calling I have never known and my committee grew with the loss. Dedicated people, fed up with taxes and the politics as usaul and of destruction.
But I was defeated by a well orginized smear campaign aimed at certain individuals. I have had people calling me from the 3 parts of the district that I won telling me not to give up the fight and do a write in. So we are.
The taxrevolt will be heating up again due to the fact that the county is getting ready to do it again, we are looking at another sales tax increase and a property tax increase.
If they don't act on this budget it will go in by default with a 70% property tax increase.
