As you can see from his website and columns, Tim Wise is someone who is way out there. If it were up to Mr. Wise; Afghanis and Iraqis would still be suffering under dictatorships, the US would still be facing threats from Saddam and Osama would not be on the run in the mountains. However, the Cross Cultural Center believes that he is the right person to talk to us here at Stetson about tolerance and racism. If anyone can come to see this, please come. If not, please help me and others here in exposing this disgrace for what he really is (like what this site and others did to Ward Churchill).

To support Operation Enduring Freedom one must accept that killing civilians is acceptable

. . . and this clown does think so - provided only that the killer of said civilian not be a white American or an Israeli.

• Is a black American killing a white American? No problem.
• Is a black American killing another black American? No problem.
• Is a black African killing another black American? No problem.
• Is a muslim Arab killing an American or Israeli? No problem.
• Is a muslim Arab killing another muslim Arab? No problem.

But if an American or an Israeli kills anyone, on no matter what account - well, that is an outrage beyond toleration.

The proper objection is not that white Americans or Israelis should be allowed to kill arbitrarily as this clown thinks that every other ethnice should be allowed to do. The objection is that this foolishness is "the 'soft' biggotry of low expectations, which is fundamentally contemptuous of everyone. It is second-guessing arrogance, nothing more.

The truth is, as Thomas Sowell points out, that although Christians did not attack the (already ancient and ubiquitous) institution of slavery as an institution until the 19th Century, and not all Christians ever did, nobody else but Christians have ever attacked slavery as an institution. The fact that slavery is not a recognized institution now traces only to the fact white Christians with rifles decided to go into harm's way to end it. For no other reason than that they thought it was wrong.
