I am amazed at the power such a very, very small group of elites have...the MSM. In light of this, it is even MORE amazing that the Constitution is getting a yes and we are doing as well as we are in Iraq!
IMHO, they have said power because, "we the people" give it to them.
Notice your own words..."elites" and "MSM" for example. As long as "we the people" continue to perpetuate the lie that these "reporters" are elite and somehow deserve our respect, their "power" will continue to undermine the true mainstream America.

While they may continue to represent the "mainstream" of the media world, that world, as you so aptly point out, is a very, very small group. Most of the press that I have been in contact with recently, do not have the intellect of my pet rock.
The media, in no way, represents the prevailing current of thought, influence or activity of mainstream Americans.
