I wouldn't worry about Bush's 45% approval numbers. Americans are known throughout the world as extremely impatient people. Everyone in America wants a functional democracy in Iraq NOW and everyone wants to start bring our troops home NOW. Everybody wants all the hurricane damage to oil platforms and oil refineries repaired immediately so gasoline drops back to $2.30 NOW. People want the stock market to have a big rally this month so they can start getting rich right now. Meanwhile the MSM is relentlessly attacking Bush and taking the most negative perspective it can take on Iraq, hurricane relief, and the economy.

What we need to turn this around and counter the MSM bias is some concrete results: troops withdrawals from Iraq and reduced spending in Iraq, gasoline back down to $2.30, an end to interest rate increases by the Fed, and rebuilding and renewal in Lousiana and Mississippi. All of these results should start to happen later this year and on into 2006. The first tangible result will probably be a decline in gasoline prices to $2.60 by December and $2.30 by March. After that, a lot depends on Iraq, but I believe we are turning the tide there in our favor (despite the hopelessly f***ed up MSM).
