Do you have the same copy of the BOR that I have?

Mine may be older and was taught with historical accuracy.

Btw, do you really think that people in the 1700's would have given society carte blanche to say whatever came into their heads? Considering that in their day and age you could be killed for critisizing the government, what did you think they'd mean? The press was also jailed etc for shining a light on government so the "old guys" made certain that it would be a protected right too.

Sorry - I didn't realize you could channel George and Thomas.

I understand the political oppression that happened during that time. I didn't say that your interpretation was incorrect - I implied it was too narrow. So, please, save your strawman for an upcoming autumn festival.

I think that had they meant it to apply only to criticizing the government, they would have INCORPORATED that. Since the BOR is a restriction on the fedgov, I think your arguments for a narrow interpretation are empty.
