Nice post.
My uncle is buried in the Ardennes, all of 19 years old and a newlywed at the time.
I'm not much on Nazis either.
But, institutionalized urban thuggery is a much greater threat these days.
Throw rocks at Nazis...throw lead at looters..
May his memory and his sacrifice be honored till the end of time. My mother was a German Jewish refugee in the UK; my father, a British Jew. I was born just four years after the end of the war. I would not exist if the Nazis had won. I have always been aware of the sacrifices made on our behalf, and I have always tried to be worthy of them. The greatest honor of my life was to become an American soldier, to step into the very boots of the liberators and saviors, and to take up their cause myself. I went to college on the GI Bill and became an officer, a scientist and, finally, a moderately wealthy man. A while back, a moonbat student asked me how I could be so patriotic. I looked at him as though he were insane, and I really think he was.
