Finally the cops show up--after the looting is done and the fire is set.

I find it hard to believe these looters had never done this before--they seemed far too comfortable with their activities.

The building's been burning for, what, 10 minutes now? Still no fire department on the scene.

Some neo-nazi group once got a permit to march in a town nearby where I live. The city gave them the permit, but made them march out by the county landfill. Funny thing, though. There wasn't a single incident of looting or rioting.
