I live in Northern Kentucky and I remember what happened. There were very many in the black community who wanted the police in the area because they were afraid of those rioting. Many christian pastors walked through the neighborhoods protesting the violence. In other words although the rioters were black it didn't matter to them who they hurt, black or white.

Pretty unsurprising. And of course, all you hear in the news are the demagogues blaming all the problems on the police and "the MAN".

The brutal reality as I see it, is that we are unwilling as a society to have the police deal out the violence necessary to keep order in the streets, in these situations.
