United Press International - NewsTrack - More details leak on Boy George arrest
NEW YORK, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Boy George reportedly had a male prostitute in his loft who tried to rob him the morning of his cocaine bust, the New York Post said Friday.
The newspaper says Boy George, aka George O'Dowd, called police to his New York loft to file a complaint about the hustler who reportedly demanded he turn over all the money in the house.
When police arrived, the prostitute was gone, but they saw a small amount of cocaine sitting near O'Dowd's computer. Police sources said a "friend" of the singer-turned-DJ blurted out there "was a lot more" coke in the bedroom.
The former Culture Club frontman has repeatedly insisted the 13 bags of coke found by police did not belong to him.
O'Dowd flew to London after his arrest under orders to return to New York for a Dec. 19 hearing on the drug charges.

GEORGE 'HOOKER ROB BID'
POP star Boy George was arrested on a drugs charge after hiring a male prostitute who tried to rob him, it was claimed yesterday. The ex-Culture Club singer called police to his New York home saying he was being burgled but was held for allegedly having cocaine. A newspaper in the city claimed the hooker demanded all his money. It quoted a source: "George said no and that he was going to call police. The prostitute said, 'Go ahead and you'll go to jail'. George called the police, the prostitute left and George got arrested." George, real name George O'Dowd, appeared in court and must attend a hearing in December. His lawyer said outside court: "He does not know where the drugs came from."
