Those who can't write should not be on the Supreme Court. This nominee is a supreme brown-noser, and that is exactly the quality that the Federalist Papers warned against, resulting in the Senate's constitutional role of "advise and consent" on SCOTUS nominations. That the President should have fallen for the most obsequious character since Uriah Heep in "Oliver Twist" does not speak well for his judgement.

Now kitty, I think that if you objectively go back and look at the President's judgment in times that NO other President has been placed in, while you may not like his choice for SCJ, he has proven his judgment time and again.
If you have any hope of changing minds on this subject, accusing President Bush of poor judgment in general will win you few converts. I think this type of backhanded attack is what is causing so many of us that want the hearings to take place, to enter into arguments here that only aid and abet the enemy (dims).
I guess my point is that your points stand on their own quite well without these low-ball tactics.

I would hate to see you go "nukular" on Myers.

Fair or not, late-night comics have picked up the Miers thread. NBC's Jay Leno suggested the court may need "a woman who's had more courtroom experience, like Courtney Love." CBS's David Letterman envisioned Miers exclaiming as she watched the New York Yankees botch a playoff game: "And they call me unqualified?"
You know it's bad when a Supreme Court Nominee ends up as a punch-line for has-been comics.
It's funny sad. I don't seem to remember Roberts being ubiquitously eviscerated for his lack of credentials.
It's like Ann Coulter said: "The only sexism involved in the Miers nomination is the administration's claim that once they decided they wanted a woman, Miers was the best they could do. Let me just say, if the top male lawyer in the country is John Roberts and the top female lawyer is Harriet Miers, we may as well stop allowing girls to go to law school."
