Or, in the fine Bush family tradition, all over the Japanese prime minister, should he show up in the gallery.
oh, you too? he said i was trying to destroy and discredit every conservative pundit...except i pointed out that i supported rush, ingraham, levin, and so on. didnt stop him from continuing to look foolish.
the other day he called me a noob...uhh ive been here for like 18 months.
Much better, lol :)
True..
RINO does not harm RINO or democrat...
Its a planet of apes thing..
Well maybe the anti-Mired crowd should type more slowly for you.
Bush said he would pick justices like Scalia and Clarence Thomas. Are you claiming Mier is Scalia in a skirt?
Republican presidents have a poor track record in predicting future SCOTUS behavior. Hence, most conservatives want a proven jurist, litigator, and combatant. Miers is an empty slate. The anti-Miers conservatives believe the SCOTUS appointment is too important to blindly bend over a take one for W.
Bush claims Miers will be a conservative for 20 years into the future. Well less than twenty years ago she donated money to Al Gore's 1988 presidential campaign. She dissed the Federalist society and genuflected to the NAACP. She's been W's buddy for a decade and like most people around power is likely a bit of a sycophant. Most of her friends and co-workers state that she is very reserved and private and have no idea what her true opinions are.
Because she has no judicial experience and very limited public writings we cannot judge her judicial or even political philosophy. She is by definition a stealth candidate. Can you name a stealth supreme court appointee who turned out conservative?
She has no background in constituional law. Most conservatives were hoping for a forceful influential advocate of conservative constitutional principles who could influence future law students and jurisprudence.
Bush let all the RINO senators that Freepers so despise off the hook. They don't have to cast a tough vote for or against of Luttig or Owens. W surrended before the fight even began. Pathetic.
Bush did what the democrats have been unable to do since 1994. He split the conservatives over a bonehead choice for SCOTUS. I hope he has the strength to suck it up and dump her.
Just keep waving those pompoms. And please don't tell the emperor he has no clothes, why it would be disloyal.
What happens when you run out of Napkins? My stunned beeper wants to know!
LOL! Care to be more specific? What kind of napkins...lol?
I would!! but this is a PG Rated Forum
My coded message received. GOOD. :)
Keyboard spew alert ;-)
Gripes? Geez, the case against Miers is a lot more than gripes.
Are you also tired of gripes against Bush's failure to protect the border?
When are the confirmation hearings?
Don't worry, we're glad to assign to assign it.
Why in the world hasn't this nimrod been fired yet?
Typo.
I like your homepage. The Miers-kitten picture was great.
That, and we definitely need to bring back the HUAC.
" Why in the world hasn't this nimrod been fired yet?"
Loyalty.
Applies to everyone except the conservative base.

I would love to see the names of the individuals that volunteered for that kamikaze mission.
I'm sure they're probably like hugh hewitt- the true believers...the party men (and maybe women) who will defend anything as long as they think it's advancing the party...or their position in it.
Hugh Hewitt must be sweating grape Kool-Aid right now.
Here's another good one:
Ed's Worry
[Gerard Bradley 10/14 04:48 PM]
Ed Whelan expresses (as is his wont) in a measured, careful, and objective manner some grounds to be concerned about the "quality and reliability" of information offered in defense on Harriet Miers's nomination.
I am not Ed. And so here is how I express my great regret at, and continuing suspicion of, practically the whole Miers' defense case: It has been an erratic mix of insults ("you guys are sexist"), irrelevancies ("she is such a good lady"), and invitations to shut up, sit back, and be governed ("trust us, damn it"). Spin and evasion so far. Are downright lies up next?
Maybe those in charge are not yet prepared to stanch the bleeding by withdrawing Miers's nomination. But they surely could and should now quit making matters even worse by treating conservatives puzzled (to put it as Ed might) over this nominee as if, well, we were Democrats.
