Texas is a great place, folks in West Texas are the greatest people on earth. Having said that I moved when I was 30 to the beachs of California and have missed only Lake Travis since I left (well Whataburgers too). Oh I miss those 100degree July - Aug days too but not much, although it is funny to watch people in San Francisco complain when the heat gets up to 80.
You are obviously in the wrong part of CA if you miss 100+ degree days. Get away from those wimps in SF and come toward the Sierras, Northern CA is the only place to live in CA.
Whataburger is the only thing my husband ever says he misses. Last week we discovered there's one in Petersbuurg VA.
Much closer and no outlaws, I mean inlaws. :)
