American and Iraqi soldiers near Mosul on Tuesday seized one of the largest weapons caches uncovered in that area, officials said Thursday. More weapons from the cache, buried in a 20-foot container in the ground in Rawah, were still being found after the main cache was destroyed.

Among the weapons found were 220 rocket-propelled grenades, 40,000 7.62 mm rounds, 100 2.75-inch rockets, 10 anti-tank mines, 1,000 .50-caliber rounds, 50 mortar rounds, 3,000 feet of detonation cord, a dozen 40-pound containers of black powder and two dozen 40-pound containers of red powder.

The cache was found by Iraqi forces from the 3rd Battalion, 1st Brigade, 1st Iraqi Army Division and U.S. soldiers from the 4th Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, officials said.

Another 1,000 122 mm artillery rounds have also been found in the area, about 700 of which have been destroyed.

I wonder if these caches are left over from the Saddam era, or newly imported from Iran and elsewhere?

The cache was found by Iraqi forces from the 3rd Battalion, 1st Brigade, 1st Iraqi Army Division...

This must be a misprint. Joe Biden said there aren't any Iraqi forces in Iraq.

I posted a couple of pics on the #3 FReepathon thread of this.

The MSM ignores and won't report about this because it actually is good news.

But when the President calls and someone says "move that water bottle out of the camera shot" and asks who is going to answer what question without scripting the answers, then it is all the MSM hysterical crap head rage.

It is only during the Saddam era and before 1991 if the cache contains any chem warheads.

After that they are caches of the freedom fighters.
