Asking that a politician President Bush, and a political party, the Pubbies, honor promises which swept them into office isn't "Lynch Mob" mentality at all.

It is what civilized men have always known was the bare minimum for a political system to function - keeping one's promise.

Do you somehow manage to believe that "Thou shalt not bear false witness" does not apply to President Bush?

What American citizens are aware of and rejecting, is that a "business friendly" justice (as miers has been described) would agree with Kelo, which was a "business friendly" decision, after all.

Americans prefer their judges "Constitution friendly".

As for your:
Since Senators are now elected by the People, unlike the President, that process has gotten a little more politicized. That was a mistake.

I hope it is either a typo or irony. Not knowing which, I have to pass on that line.

President Bush never promised to nominate YOUR candidates. How does that equal breaking his promise? Why would I want YOUR candidates rather than his since I never voted for YOU? It appears you are confused as to how this process works if you believe YOU have a role in it. According to the Constitution you don't.

The Antis are sounding more and more like the RATs with every post and you now join them in calling the President a liar.

Assumptions that YOU know more about Miers than he are just ridiculous. You essentially know nothing which is why you are complaining.

There are many people here who believe the original insulation of the Senate from popular election was correct and that changing it changed the role it was intended to play. It was designed to be the equivalent to the House of Lords not another House. Now given the poor quality of most state legislatures I can't honestly claim that they would choose better Senators but now they have become grandstanding camera hogs like Representatives.

Lynch Mob mentality is not mere opposition it is rushing into actions without knowledge or proper understanding. Honest opposition I have no problem with but what I am seeing is people assuming the President is wrong with no real basis for doing so. And not knowing enough about the nominee is NOT sufficient basis.

Very, very good point.
