Um, the 5 Federalist Society people on her staff were hired by Gonzo, NOT HM!
While she didn't hate them enough to fire them outright, reports are that she wasn't too happy to have them there, either.
And, I see that you missed the REAL juicy bit of this Drudge report. She apparently called the FS a "politically charged organization", while saying that the NAACP was NOT politically charged (shortly after they torpedoed Bork, among other nasty things that they did - ALL political).
Also, note in her 2005 speech all of the vague platitudes and referring to her audience in a distant, arms-length way. It is clear from her words that she does NOT agree with the group's philosophies or principles.
This nomination is a disaster, and needs to be rescinded ASAP!
Amen, brother.
I did read that transcript from 17 years ago and I took it as a very political response to a question based on race and civil rights. Ask any Rep. Senator the same question in 88 and I bet 50% of them may answer the same way.
Desperate, desperate, desperate.
More circuitous innuendo about what her beliefs are rather than straight talk.
From this here we know she says nice things to people she speaks in front of. How nice!

Links to "reports" please.
when did the NAACP torpedo Bork "shortly" before her 2005 FS speech?
"Reports." I think one calls this gossip. OK, "reports" from whom?
The "juicy" bits are seventeen years old. And the NAACP had relatively little to do with the sinking of Bork's nomination. You seem to be reading a lot back into events two decades old.
We're not going to let you get away with hearsay.
Name your sources and their positions in the WHite House.
Actually, her 2005 words convince me otherwise.
You're 0-for-2.
Leonard Leo is the Executive Vice President of the Federalist Society and he supports the Miers nomination.
Are you suggesting that you know more about Miers and her true feelings towards the Federalist Society than does Leonard Leo? Or that Leo is perhaps intentionally undermining his own organization?
Yawn ~ HM will be confirmed easily and go on to be a very good justice on the SCOUTS -
You just like the DEM's (concerning Iraq) are simply on the wrong side of history -
I guess you didn't watch Brit on FOX tonight. He reported that Miers made the statement about the Federalist group back in 1989 just when it was being formed and no one really knew what the group was going to be. So she cannot be blamed for what she said about it. The problem with little snipets of statements is that you don't have a frame of reference for them. You don't know the background or what led up to the comment. You should be more careful about what you post.
