James Prendergast's column, Massachusetts Should Close Down OpenDocument, touched a nerve among FOXnews.com's tech savvy readers and ignited a heated response.
Below is a sample of some of the mail we received:

Editor's Note:
The column "Massachusetts Should Close Down OpenDocument" that appeared on FOXnews.com Sept. 28 identified author James Prendergast as executive director of Americans for Technology Leadership, but failed to disclose that Microsoft is a founding member of that organization.

Every time you create an Open Document file, God kills a kitten.

Do you realize that ODF is
the most monstrously conceived and
dangerous Communist plot we have ever had to face?

Every time you open a document, someone has access to your precious bodily fluids.

Ah, but the Open Document format...that's where I had them.
I proved beyond a doubt and with geometric that it was
a monstrous communist plot . . .

Whoops, meant to say: Every time you create an Open Document file, someone has access to your precious bodily fluids.
I'm having a bad day--can't think straight. Maybe someone's already got ahold of my fluids and is draining them.

LOL, Ski. God I love Bogey. My dad has great posters of him in his basement. It's a cool place--great old bar, big picture windows, and a half-keg on tap at all times for one's drinking pleasure desires. I'll see if he can get Straubs next time. ;-)

When Fox News finds out that they were played for shills by a scam artist, they fess up to it. Not only did they fess up, they published commentary of the opposing view, fessing up again at the bottom. Fox does do some things that make me wonder, especially treating Bush a little too nice, but this shows integrity.

Every time you open a document, someone has access to your precious bodily fluids.Oh, I don't know. Sharing access to my bodily fluids is kind of an avocation of mine. ;-)
