The bird flu virus found in Turkey is the H5N1 strain dangerous to humans, the EU Commission has said. Scientists have been carrying out tests for the strain on dead birds from a farm in Kiziksa, north-west Turkey.
The EU Commission has banned all bird and poultry imports from Turkey and Romania following confirmed bird flu outbreaks in both countries.
The H5N1 version is responsible for more than 60 deaths in Asia since the end of 2003.
"I sorry but you have no idea what your talking about."
Yes I do, I was just being silly.
"What worries everyone is if it mutates so that the jump is not very hard. "
Or that it mutates so that it can jump from human to human.
"If/when it does do this many millions are going to die."
This is a BIG if/when. That's what I was poking fun at.

You have a 3 times better chance of winning the powerball lottery then of getting this flu (if there is one) and dying from it. I think the real target is the 4th admendment. Probably use some 'health and safety' rationale to start searching the homes of law-abiding citizens.
I have raised the question elsewhere on the forum as to whether the current cases in Turkey are occurring because wild birds have lost their migratory resting place in the Irag marshes destroyed by Saddam Hussein in the 1990's. (See at bird flu, Iraq.) Sick birds would have a chance to die in the isolated marshes before flying elsewhere.
If this is likely then we should fix those marshes ASAP.
