Hey Billie, been outside picking up hickory nuts and walnuts. There seems to be an abundance this year, wonder if that means we're in for a colder than usual winter
What do you make with those nuts?
Good question. We have a HUGE old hickory tree. We usually end up raking up the shells as it attracts TONS of squirrels that provide hours of entertainment as they tease Rusty to death. I think they LIVE to torment the poor guy
So..Aqua...is there something to do with hickory nuts????
P.S. feinie....still can't get over your cute adoreable pup!!!

Just saw your post about the hickory nuts. They have very hard shells and it's like mining for gold to get to the "meat" but well worth the effort once a year for a delicacy. I have a pound cake recipe that I add a cup of hickory nuts to, could post the recipe here during the Holiday's if you're interested.

I was thinking maybe hickory nuts could be used for smoking on the grill.....the that would be hickory chips....
As for the pup....his cuteness is off the charts. He bit my man on the nose 2 days ago & that cuteness was all that saved him.
