In ten or twenty years they will introduce a new doll who grew up in the latter half of the 1900s. She'll come complete with a book, a purse and her her very own contraceptive pack that actually opens and closes.

10 or 20 years? Why wait? She'd sell like hotcakes right now.

Maybe she will be called the NOW doll?

Cafeteria boycotts won't work. Boycott all of Mattel's products.

This is one cafeteria boycott that actually could work. American Girls product line is aimed at parents looking for age appropriate toys, game, and books for their preteen daughters. Generally speaking, that means NO BOYS. Their magazine does not focus on boys.

Parents know they're paying way too much for the stuff, but pay it, knowing the premium is going toward keeping their daughters Brittany Spears and Bratz free. Most, but certainly not all, of the parents buying this junk would be horrified to know their 10 year old was exposed to this lesbian babykilling crap. If American Girl sales plummet, the boycott would have its desired effect.

In defense, they were really nice dolls. And the books that corresponded to each doll were fun, educational, and my daughter read them and enjoyed (and learned).

My daughter even leaned toward the clothin styles.

It is a sad line they have now destroyed.

My daughters always wanted "American Girl" dolls, but they are obscenely expensive.

The "My Twinn" dolls cost as much as down payment on a new car.

I guess it's "Trailer Trash" Barbie for my granddaughters!

Be sure to call the toll free 800 number, and if you have the time do what my nieces did. Fax a picuture of the kids sitting with the dolls and a message stating, "we won't be buying your stuff until you stop supporting abortion."

She will be called the THEN doll as this species of feminist becomes extinct from failure to reproduce.

Good Grief. Thank you so much for letting us know.

I guess I'd better get my butt in gear and start sewing. Bitty Baby Clothes are on the list of 3 granddaughters.

WOW! That gives me an idea for my daughter's friends. I will be speaking with parents about this, and copying this all to them. Then we shall see how we can illustrate our disdain in the most effective manner possible.

Very nicely done!

Email sent:

My daughters have been fans of American Girls books, dolls, and other merchandise for years. They are even members of an American Girls club and regularly receive catalogs and other related literature in the mail. Untold dollars have been spent towards what used to be a wholesome product and company.

I was saddened and somewhat angered to learn today of your support for the radical Girls, Inc. organization. I've been to their website (www.girlsinc.com) and seen their offensive advocacy statements for myself. I will not knowingly support or do business with any organization or company which advocates deviant lifestyles to children or who supports the killing of unborn children. Girls, Inc. supports those things (see http://www.girlsinc.com/ic/page.php?id=4.3.4) and you support them (see http://store.americangirl.com/shop/ican.php) and, therefore, I will no longer do business with you.

My daughters will be very disappointed and you will not see any more purchases from any of my direct and extended family members. That is, until you cease your support for this radical group, apologize for ever supporting them, and donate the same amount of money you've given to Girls, Inc. to a crisis pregnancy center who offers abortion alternatives and counseling.

You know what? All AG needs to do is pull their money, cease selling the wristbands, and issue various media apologies to their customers. They should issue apologies to the girls whom they exposed to this untraditional garbage.

I agree. American girls is a big market. I think this will make them take notice, especially when you consider how pricey their stuff is. It's really outrageous. I found doll furniture for AG sized dolls at a local craft store. (A.C.Moore) It was FAR cheaper and just as good for playing with when it will probably get pretty beat up anyway. American Girls is (or used to be) part of Goetz Doll company. A German company.

Doll clothes patterns can be found in Simplicity and McCalls I believe. We got some patterns years ago and I think it was from those pattern companies. They're nice patterns, too. I made my nieces doll dresses from leftover material to match dresses I made for them. They loved it.

Oops. I didn't mean to type junk, I had junk on the brain because I had just typed Brittney Spears and Bratz.

Also, my wife just called American Girl to return unopened Christmas presents that she had bought for our granddaughter - a Nellie doll and her Irish dancing dress. The woman in customer service was very nice and said they'd been getting calls all day. At first it sounded like she was towing the company line to make sure my wife understood that they were supporting the educational aspects, not the other stuff.

My wife nicely pointed out that supporting their educational efforts could mean supporting their attempts at sex education but that even if educational efforts means putting money towareds teaching girls Algebra that would free up money that could be targeted toward their other, unsavory goals. The lady claimed to know and was very apologetic. She said upper management knows they need to do something. My wife said she'd give them a week and if nothing's done, more than a 100 dollars worth of items would be returned unopened.

Girls Incorporated supports a woman’s freedom of choice, a constitutional right established by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973 in Roe vs. Wade.

So they support killing future customers before they can be born? Like most lefty things and loudmouths, the urge to control and change lets the mouth shoot the income stream.

Tell your wife HOOO RAHH! :)

If you hear more about that, please post it to this thread. I've not heard back on my email. I'm sure they have QUITE A FEW.

I really hope they do something about this. We had a nice collection going with them.

Thanks. I was looking for a way to talk my wife out of blowing $ on this stuff. ;-) She allegedly buys them for our daughter, but the doll is really for her.

You know, the more I think about this the more incensed I get. The American Girl website is aimed at what, 8 year olds? And they're linking them to a website with policy statements on contraception, abortion, homosexuality, sexuality in general? They must be out of their friggin minds.

Sheesh, even if I was a flaming lib this isn't stuff I'd want my EIGHT YEAR OLDS directed to from a toy company's website!
