Since the Interior Minister is the head spy and enforcer, my guess is he was helped along. Only question is what side was he on to get him killed?

Must have been really serious since we all know by now that suicide is so against the tenets of islam.

Unless it's committed while trying to blow up some Jooooos. Then it's martyrdom and 72 virgins in paradise.

Unless it's committed while trying to blow up some Jooooos.

That's only for the muslim common folk.

Their leaders don't have the courage (drug induced stupor) to blow themselves up

Sounds like the Interior Minister suffered from "Arkancide". Do they have a Ft. Marcy Park in Damascus?

Hehehe

Syrian interior minister commits suicide-agency

DAMASCUS (Reuters) - Syrian Interior Minister Ghazi Kanaan committed suicide at his office on Wednesday, the official Syrian News Agency SANA said.

Kanaan, who was Syria's top official in Lebanon for two decades until 2002, had been interviewed two weeks earlier by U.N. investigators probing the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri.

"The minister of interior died in his office this afternoon after committing suicide and the authorities are investigating the incident," SANA said in a report.

Hours before the news broke, Kanaan spoke to a Lebanese radio station, denying reports in Lebanese media that he showed the U.N. investigators cheques paid to him by the late Hariri.

"I think this is the last statement I might give," Kanaan said at the end of the phone interview with Voice of Lebanon.

Hold all calls please, we have a winner! From AP via Ynetnews:

"His death was reported days before the expected release of a U.N. Report into the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri."

Someone should get a transcript of the interview he gave to the Lebanese radio station hours before he committed suicide in which he ended the interview with "I think this is the last statement I will give."
