Karl Rove is the President's political advisor, and as such will say (or not say) whatever it takes to get the President's "political" agenda moved forward. The SCOTUS nomination should be a Constitutional decision, not a political move.
Gee, this almost makes the Lefties claims of "Karl Rove is President Bush's brain" seem half true.

The SCOTUS nomination should be a Constitutional decision, not a political move. The decision is made by political people.
Of course Supreme Court justice nominations are going to be political.
Should Bush appoint Lawrence Tribe? He teaches constitutional law at Harvard, after all.
