Laura Bush didn't bring it up Matt Lauer brought it up.

She was asked a question by the MSM to put her in a box.

Either go against women or say people are being sexist.

Laura didn't call out any group saying they were sexist either.

She could have been talking also about the John Turley liberal talking head lawyers on the MSM that having been going after Miers.

Laura Bush didn't bring it up...

I know that. I thought I said that. I heard the whole replay on (surfin')pmsnbc. I don't know of any conservative bloggers or media types in our circles who would even think of saying that.

She could have been honest and said NO. But it's diss the conservative Republicans month again at the WH, so let's just lay it on. She was in NO BOX. She is very astute about comments.

I'm so tired of this. I never thought until very recently that our Bushes would do this. We took the surprise stealth Roberts nom. without saying anything, and we won't know for a long time where he stands constitutionally...but Miers?!?! My word!

Of course, she could have said no, it's not sexism. She could have said that some conservatives underestimate Miers, but that she doens't believe there's any sexism on the Republican side.
Or she could have laughed it off, and said "Don't be ridiculous, in this day and age almost no one objects to a woman judge."
Instead, she turned on her husband's base.
