Yes, Earl Warren turned out to be a great judge, didn't he?
Our beloved SINKSPUR:

no
Yeah, and he also happened to be lousy executive. Coincidence?
sorry I pinged you twice.
you must ping him to it....FReeper rule, right?
"you must ping him to it....FReeper rule, right?"
No, it's not the rule. Besides, he already emailed me to whine about it. He browbeat another poster. I'm tired of his sanctimonious posts.
he EMAILED it to you? HAHAHAHAH
Yes.
Could not have said it better.
I support the conservative causes with money and effort, and I am sure that many of the Miers' opponents do lot more than me.
We don't need the middle finger. Simply a good reason to support her. I have not found any yet.
Levin is the absolute best. I wish he was nominated.
You mean that it is brilliant of the President to cut out the Republican fundraising by infuriating the base before an election year?
Wow!
Come on! Don't attribute these stupid remarks to the conservatives in general. Yes, some idiots may have said those horrible things about Miers. But, they are such a very minute fraction of conservatives that it is hardly worth repeating.
Thanks for pointing out the silliness of the hearings argument. The pointless speeches by the Senators will reveal nothing.
This time, watch for Dumbocrat Senators to give long speeches on how the conservatives mistreaded Miers and all the nine yards. They will come across as reasonable people.
Exactly my feelings. What an outrage. She should go back to being the First Lady.
Oh my god. It is going downhill for the White House. Why are they digging the hole deeper? Isn't the lesson to stop digging when in a ditch?
The fact that he was seeking out someone from outside the Judiciary and not the most qualified in the mold of Scalia/Thomas scares the hell out of me. Scalia/Thomas is what he promised.
"This time, watch for Dumbocrat Senators to give long speeches on how the conservatives mistreaded Miers and all the nine yards. They will come across as reasonable people."
That is IMO 100% accurate. I've watched plenty of SCOTUS hearings and they told me nothing about the canddate, only about those who question the candidate.
You think this sellout on the SCOTUS issue won't impact Congressional fundraising for 2006?
You do know well over a third of the Justices that served never had been on a bench before, right? This is not unique or anything new.
