Black voters are the conservatives of the Democratic party.

I apparently wandered onto the republican party by mistake but the plantation made a hard left turn on me.

Pretty much. Who else do we have to vote for?

SISTER SOLUJAH MOMENT

"In United States politics, a Sister Souljah moment is a politician's public repudiation of an allegedly extremist person, statement, or position perceived to have some association with the politician. Whether sincere or not, such an act of repudiation can appeal to centrist voters, at the cost of alienating some of the politician's allies."

Also known as the shaft.

Nah, blacks are treated worse by dems that we are by Republicans. Wait, why doesn't this feel like a great defense?

The Buchananite House Organ is demanding total war on President George W. Bush.

No surprise from these bombthrowers.

I would say its more like the more hardcore fundamentalist Christians (the ones who support ID as "Science") are more like the blacks of the Republican party, rather than conservatives in general.

But it is true. After all I have lost count of the number of times I have seen people post, "Who else are you going to vote for."

"What's the alternative? The WH is trying to frame the debate as a case of "well if you don't vote for us, it will put THE DEMOCRATS in power!"

That's EXACTLY the game the democrats played in the last election and now the republicans expect me to play it.

You can vote for the Constipation Party, or the Libertarians, or the Greens, or the Independents, or the Left-Handers, or Big-Toe-Suckers, or, finally, just stay home.

I long ago gave up on ideological political purity. I never get everything--in some cases, anything--in my own family. Why do I expect to get any different when dealing with a much larger group of people?

I am a conservative independent. I quit the republican party in 2003. I vote for candidates based on their positions. Not their party.

I don't know about that. At least Bush is paying public lip service to their beliefs. As a small gvt fiscal conservative, what has he given me to hang my hat on? N.O.? Prescription drugs? Dept of Homeland Security?
