I think that when a white cop beats up a white guy, there is a tendency to give the cop the benefit of the doubt. When a white cop beats up a black guy, it's always portrayed as racism. Some times it is, but some times it isn't.

I think it goes without saying that cops that use excessive force are not the best cops to begin with. Emphasis on excessive.
