That's when the news came out that Carl Rowan, gun-control advocate, actually possessed a license to own firearms.

IIRC, he didn't have a license and was only able to avoid prosecution by asserting his Patent of Nobility.

I may be incorrect. But I think he claimed his son left the pistol at his home by mistake. (Good thing he had it available to him though.)
