I agree with her to the point that the american media frenzy about scaring people is too much. I am amazed whenever I travel overseas, people here say "Aren't you AFRAID to be going out of the country?"
I reply "I gotta fly out of LAX, about 2 miles from the worst, most violent ghetto that I will see on my trip, once I'm out of there, I feel a helluva lot more safe"

I also think the press hits the "panic" button and the weak minded run around like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off.
Remember the "Flu Panic" from last fall? All about the shortage of vaccine, everybody was going to get the flue, for weeks the "people" were pounding on doors and paying way to much for a shot. What happened? Normal flue season and six weeks later hundreds of thousand doses of vaccine sat in the box only to be wasted at the end of the season.
A person has a better chance of being in a car wreck or crime victim than being a terrorist target.
