Do you think if we awarded one of those degrees to Osama bin Laden, he might come and pick it up?

For those who don't follow the elaborate personality cult propaganda that Kim Jong Il employs, he's amongst other things, an accomplished classical music composer, rivaling the greats of Europe, and a master golfer that routinely makes holes-in-one. All this tripe is fed to north koreans via official party channels. It is all they know. Kim is one sick puppy. And I didn't even go into the part about kidnapping japanese women for his personal harems.

KJI is one of the last in a long line of Stalinist dictators like Nicolai Ceausecu (sp?), Idi Amin, and of course, Fidel. Like Caligula of old, the people were taught that their glorious leader was a god and not a mere man.

-From CIA World Fact Book

North Korea, one of the world's most centrally planned and isolated economies, faces desperate economic conditions. Industrial capital stock is nearly beyond repair as a result of years of underinvestment and spare parts shortages. Industrial and power output have declined in parallel. The nation has suffered its eleventh year of food shortages because of a lack of arable land, collective farming, weather-related problems, and chronic shortages of fertilizer and fuel. Massive international food aid deliveries have allowed the regime to escape mass starvation since 1995, but the population remains the victim of prolonged malnutrition and deteriorating living conditions. Large-scale military spending eats up resources needed for investment and civilian consumption.

Great work Kim, maybe you'll be eligible for the Nobel peace prize once you nuke a few cities.
