Ahhh, okay : )

I've made taco salad plenty of times on hot days. It's more like a tostada, and I use fresh salsa as the dressing, along with sour cream and guacamole, for whoever wants it. I just lined the counter with bowls, and let everyone dig in. Catalina dressing and ground beef don't go together.

These jello mold stories are cracking me up. I've never made one before, but I've seen the recipes from old cookbooks. Now I'm starting to wonder if an appetizing jello mold is possible?

I don't think that anything with the word "mold" in it is appetizing. Well - Moldavian sugar cookies, sure - but that's not just mold, it's got avian tacked onto it.

Wait a minute - mold and avian - it's a bird fungus! Oh my goodness!!!!

Ok -I'll admit here - I made an asparagus aspic once - kind of like a jello mold but not sweet - I thought it was good but saw a lot of it in the sink later.......;^)

There's something about eating jello with crunchy stuff inside. Just can't do it!

My moms fave was orange jello, shredded carrots and coca-cola. Or lime jello with crushed pineapple and cream cheese.
