Does anyone else suspect that these fatality figures might be just a *tad* exaggerated?

Yes, this was a disaster, but no, I don't think we'll ever hear an accurate body count. High body counts translate into big bucks for UN agencies, third-world countries, NOLA officials, and other thieves.

Another thing to notice - look how the article mentions that a majority of the victims were "schoolboys."

Less than two days after several thousand people are killed, many of them presumably buried under a mountain of rubble, a significant percentage of the remains will probably never be identified or even found...

But we can say with certainty that a majority of the victims were schoolboys.

It's a tragedy, of course, but you can't help but smell the stench of opportunism.
