CBS Shame: Network Helps BTK Killer By Debbie Schlussel
Tonight's CBS TV Movie is a two-hour Lifetime-style waste of time on the BTK killer. Besides being the usual brain-addled damsel-in-distress "movie of the week" crap, this movie is exactly what the BTK killer wanted.
BTK wanted fame--even wrote notes to police and the press asking what he needed to do to get noticed, to get more publicity. He craved this notoriety, and tortured and murdered ten innocent women to attain it. By doing this two-hour movie, CBS is playing right into his hands--rewarding this cretin on network prime-time. And making some greedy, callous Hollywood producers even more wealthy.
Unlike CBS, we won't repeat BTK's real name or post his picture here. That's what he wants.
Hopefully, and likely, it will be tape-delayed by NFL football and trounced by "Desperate Housewives" in the ratings.
CBS . . . the network that rewards serial killers.
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
What's the difference between an MSM producer and a hyena?
There are some things a hyena just won't do.
To Debbie and her ilk, not worshiping Dan as the true coming is punishment.
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
Isn't this what the BTK Killer already has and will continue to have long after he's dead?
Others have already written and published their books. No doubt, other books will be written . . . far into the future. Specialty cable networks will produce their documentaries and show them ad nauseam.
Better to check what's running in the same timeslot and get on with enjoying life. I'll be watching Rome.

You think that's disgraceful? I watched Mike Wallace interview louis Freeh. Talk about a dance around the truth. I wonder why CBS did'nt give a full hour to Freeh?
Seems it was more of an indictment against Freeh than an interview concerning his book on Clinton.
They have been off my channel list for several years. I am surprised to hear they are still around.
I will either be watching the Angel/Yankees or the Bengal/ Jaguar game. Thanks anyways. CBS another loser network.
It appears that Joey Greco and 'Cheaters" is back on my local cable.
I'll be watching that
If 60 Minutes wants to "come clean" in an interview like that, I want to see it aired live, no edits.
What might slip out then?
I must confess I also watched, and the actor that played Rader did do a great job.
Did he really ask the police if he could send them a floppy and not be traced?
Re: floppy: yes I think so. I am pretty sure it was how they caught him. I also think his daughter did give the DNA they were able to use to seal the deal.
That actor was fantasic. Gave me the creeps.
Yes, I saw last night on "59 Minutes" Mike Wallace quote Sandy Berger, who is in real credibility trouble, as a defense to Louis Freeh's documented and proven allegations against Klinton. But this show last night was hardly some reward for the BTK killer.
On 60 Minutes last night they interviewed a jewel thief - and treated him like some kind of hero. I suspect the old men of 60 Minutes are caught in a 1940s masochistic fantasy.
They think "edgy" is siding with criminals and creeps. And they want all of us to be outraged. Yeah, right. Pathetic doesn't earn "outrage". Here's the sad news, no one thinks 60 Minutes is cool, we're embarrassed for them. That type of "rebellion" went out with 1950s seventeen year olds.
They also interviewed Freeh with close ups to make it look like he was under interrogation. Jesus, that CBS crew is sooooo old and out of it.
