Why aren't they going to her church, instead of she going to their church? Maybe this is a conservative Episcopal church? Is there still such a thing?
Maybe they went to her church last month when she wasn't a Supreme Court nominee and didn't have the press in tow?
This is such a silly thing to get all worked up over.
First you complained because YOU wrongly thought she was a member of this church, and, once shown that you were wrong about that, you are now whining that she didn't go to her OWN church?
You people are disgraceful.
Many Episcopal churches in Dallas are very conservative and feel more catholic than us Catholics because of their reverence and solemnity. Incarnation is described by my brother-in-law as High Church moderate.
Perhaps the branch of the Episcopalian church that left when the church allowed gay priests? Hmmmmmm if true, that would really tick off all on this thread who dispise her so much.
My friend who lives in Dallas just got confirmed at an Episcopalian church (she is a new convert). She said her pastor is VERY conservative, and disagrees profoundly with the decision to have that homo guy become a bishop.
Don't think so ... .
As posted by others, she and about 200 others have left the church she has been attending because the long time pastor has been replaced. I've seen unconfirmed information that it is because the new pastor is new age and PC, compared to the old pastor. This group, including the old pastor, has been meeting in a Dallas motel ball room and Miers has joined them when in Dallas. That would probably be just too much right now, so she attended services at a church attended by Senator Kaye Baley Hutchinson, among other prominent conservatives.
Smart move. And, yes, there are a lot of conservative Episcopal churches, particularly in places like Texas. An ex Catholic might feel very at home there, at least visiting.
on a conservative scale of 1 - 10 this church is a 6. As aa former member I can say that they are not liberal, but are not fighters in the ECUSA warfare against the gay wing. The biggest reason for her to be there is the "adult hour" which is like Sunday school, where local leaders occasionally speak on topics important to the time. This hour could have 1,000 well placed people listening to every word from the speak and if would be off the record.
Heard from a private source that she had cornflakes for breakfast rather than her usual toast and eggs........Hmmmmmm
