If anybody is a fan of Enya's music, check out the music of Loreena McKennitt. She's just as good.

The intruder would have left sooner if Enya were armed and passed a firearms training course. Then the intruder would have needed a panic room.

Enya's had stalker problems before. I'm surprised she didn't have full time security. Her home is very easy to find using the internet.

Something about her voice just reaches out and grabs you.
And once it is hooked in with an emotion it is there forever.

confused by all that protocol. I sometimes wonder if it's OK to sh*t, shower and shave
When I was in Boot Camp many moons ago, I really wanted to axe Gunnery Sergeant Butler about that order of things, thinking that maybe 'shave' should come pre-or post 'sh*t'....but for some reason I just never got around to it.

Who can say where the intruder goes,
Where the maid flees?
Only time...
And who can say if your alarm snizzles,
As your panic fizzles?
Only time...
(chants)
Who can say why your guard cries,
As your maid flies?
Only time...
And who can say why your feet flies,
Maybe if your guard dog dies?
Only time...
(chants)
Who can say when the cops come,
911 makes you feel dumb....
(you get the idea)

I think Enya's sister, Maire Brennan, is better.
Give "Whisper to the Wild Water" a listen and see if you agree.

Her "Only time" was the background music to one of the most moving tributes to 9/11 on the webThere's a link to it on my profile page.
WARNING: The song is an earworm and as HTB says it's a tear jerker.
It should be required daily viewing.

Thanks!
Never been able to get more than 10 minutes into that movie, no wonder I didn't recognize it.

Enya is much more than an excellent singer. She is an extremely talented musician as well.
Many people don't know that she plays most all of the musical accompaniments on her albums, along with also providing the background/harmonizing singing. When you hear the piano, violins, and other instruments playing at the same time, it is all her.
She plays the instruments, sings, and then relays each track on top of each other until it is a final masterpiece.
This is one of the reasons that it took her nearly 8 years to complete one of her most popular albums (I believe it was "A Day Without Rain").
I love her music. She is in a talent class of her own that most modern singers/musicians will never even come close to approaching.

Enya has become a one trick pony for me. There is nothing intrinsically special about Enya per se. The "Enya effect" is a particularly good selection of sound processing and editing.
Enya is basically a vocalist, a Juno-106 (cheap old analog synth with a sweet sound), a basic sampler, and a Lexicon PCM-90 to give it that trademark sheen and atmosphere. All chopped up and layered in an digital audio editing suite. It is not a hard sound to reproduce, though I'll remark that the particular selection of equipment they actually use is pretty timeless and classic, sound-wise. Nonetheless, it relies heavily on a editing and a few DSP tricks from that Lexicon unit (which can make anything sound gorgeous).

Perhaps a moat will stop the same thing happening again. Perhaps she'll smarten up and at least hire a retired member of the SAS to hang out and keep her company
