There are things we can do right now as parents. Get rid of the television. No video games. Limited internet with supervision. Get rid of the IM's and the chats. Very few movies. The heck with ratings, find out what is in the movie before you go to see it. Steer your children's friendships from an early age so they make good choices later. Talk to them about what you expect and why. Don't just tell them not to have sex, tell them why not. Listen to their opinions, too, so you know what they think. Be involved. Don't shelter them from everything as they get older; give them to tools to deal with tough situations. Don't try to make them cool or popular.

The world may be ugly, but they are still our kids.

I'm right there with you on this one! Reading this article was sickening, and it makes me personally want to end the life of those individuals that have caused so much harm to so many innocent children.

Me too, count me in. If I may have a Michael Savage type moment here, I think one day, this slouching towards Gommorah will be fixed either by the people themselves saying, enough is enough and/or some "Anakin Skywalker" will rise up and we will have a more authoritinarian system to set things right. In the latter, it can be dangerous depending on this "Anakin's" motivations, if he has the general interests of the people and the country at heart with the intentions of letting up once things are fixed, then it would be for the good and I can support that. However, sadly, even with good intentions, things can get corrupted and you could end up with a dictator out for himself. The bad thing is that it is usually the latter, with human nature and all. I think with the assault from the left, the media, the PC movement, the tolerate deviancy stuff and so on, it will be our downfall, one way or another. A mushy society cannot survive for long. Look at Europe, it could turn into Eurabia.

"Innocence" is a nice way of saying "ignorance" and if you force children to remain ignorant of the world around them, then the rest world will chew them up and spit them out.

This is the same type of "ignorance" that the leftists follow in their belief that fanatic terrorists can be peacefully reasoned with.

Your way of 'ignorance", like the leftists' way, is suicide for those children you claim to protect with ignorance.
