In a moment, I want to talk to you about something that may be a more imminent threat than terrorism. If a killer flu virus hits the U.S., can Washington actually help?
Washington could "help". The question is could they do enough?
It is a genuine epidemic, unlike AIDS which could be stopped through infected people avoiding sex and sharing needles. Children wouldn't be born with AIDS if their parents weren't already infected. I don't blame the children, I blame the selfish parents. Contaminated blood could be controlled by better screening.
Bird flu doesn't require sex or drugs. Just proximity to an infected person.
