ISLAMABAD, Oct. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- A strong earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale rocked major Pakistani cities of Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar on Saturday morning, according to local TV reports.
The quake shook buildings in Islamabad, capital of Pakistan, for about a minute at around 8:50 a.m. local time.
It also shook northern India and part of Afghanistan as Xinhua reporters in New Delhi and Kabul said both the capitals felt the shakings of the quake.
The India Meteorological Department said the earthquake's epicenter was in Pakistan. In India, the first tremor was felt at 9:25 a.m. Saturday in India-controlled Kashmir, north India's Uttaranchal, Punjab, Rajasthan, west India's Gujarat and the capital city Delhi.
Strong quakes have pushed people out of their homes in Srinagarin India-controlled Kashmir, according to NDTV reports.
High rise buildings were left particularly shaken by the tremor lasting for about minutes in Delhi. Enditem
Prayers offered up for all effected areas.
Right there, the epicenter was 60 miles north of Islamabad, IMO, exactly where binnie would be, in a luxurious villa, surrounded by residences by retired Paki generals.
Why in the world would he hang near the border in some cave where US troops are constantly making forays.
That's if you buy that the Pakis are actively sheltering him.
My kitchen is an infidel kitchen, too.
I love your name, btw! Its awesome!
this is the perfect time for US special forces to make a move - if they even have any idea where he might be, this is the time to strike (covertly).
we just had an earthquake here in Tokyo. it was not severe but it felt like it was in the middle 5 magnitude range. Does anyone know where that USGS site is that monotirs all earthquake activity to provide live time reports? I'd like to know how big it was. this is the second one in a week or so.
