To: Do not dub me shapka broham
These two appointments were by FAR the most important reason Bush needed to win re-election. THIS is what it's all about, a chance to make REAL and LASTING change in this screwed-up judicial system. He should've put in two undeniable, proven conservatives. And to those who talk about how he couldn't get those kinds of nominees through the senate, I'll point out that WE control the senate.

I sure hate to say it, but it's becoming more and more obvious that the GOP in its current condition simply cannot effectively play the role of majority. When the Democrats had the White House and senate, they put in radical liberals without a glitch. We have the White House and both houses of congress, and have to appease the liberals with nominees? Something's very very wrong with this picture: a collective lack of spine.

The will to fight for our values just isn't there.

I agree with Robert Bork.

This nomination is a "disaster on every conceivable level."
