I did too. They need spankings.

Of course i made the mistake of letting a friends mom know that I believed that ADD/ADHD is a made up disease. She then informed me that she specializes in ADD and works in that field.

Slightly embarrassing to tell someone to their face that i believe their whole line of work is a fraud, so I excused myself from the room. :)

I used to think ADHD was a result of poor discipline as well, but then I got to know a (real) ADHD kid of parents I have known for years. Yes, they spoiled him, at first. But after the real ADHD hit they really cracked down and nothing worked.

At least for some kids it is a real medical condition. I saw this tiny kid lift a heavy rocking chair in my house and smash it on the wall (the parents made him pay for the damage).

The condition may be over-diagnosed and certain drugs may be over-prescribed, but some kids really have the condition and require the medication.

I can't agree more. I might add poor diet is probably another reason kids exhibit the same symptoms.

Feed your kid right, discipline them with love and be their parents rather than their friends. 99.5 % of the problem solved

There is a small number of children who probably have ADHD. I do mean small. Like under .05 %
