Your poll for Roberts reflects the final tally after his hearings. Your poll for Miers obviously does not. If your point in posting those polls is to show there is more support for Roberts than Miers, that is clear. If your point is that somehow they show the conservative party is "fractured" over the Miers nomination, that is not clear. What is clear is that fewer people know enough about Miers to form an opinion. 40% of the members of this site who voted say they need more info. That is a strong indicator that at least 40% of the members of this site have their heads screwed on with more than one bolt, and are willing to learn the facts before they leap off any bridges because George Will says the world has ended. Let's take a look at the polls after Miers has her turn in front of the senate (which incidently is what is reflected in the Robert's poll). If she sucks, than I suspect a majority of conservatives will say they don't approve. If she kicks butt, than I suspect a majority will say they approve. Either way, where is the fracture?

Your contention is that those in favor of Meirs, then, do not have their heads screwed on with more than one bolt as well? Then why have you been quoting their percentages combined with the undecided?

BTW, for the record, my intent is to provide context. YOU are the one using the ongoing poll to attempt to advantage your argument. It was disingenuous.

Further details for your perusal.

Numbers of voters in Meir's poll at the current moment- 4869

Numbers of voters in Roberts concluded poll- 3737

If you wish to spin an ongoing poll, I will continue to post the comparison.

If you wish to inslut members of this site for having an opinion that doesn't match your own, please, find the strength to refrain.

Before the hearings this site was pretty well divided on Roberts. People saw the real Roberts minus the propaganda during the hearings and he became a popular choice here at that point.

Yes, it's a good sign that 40% of the Freepers will wait until they see the Miers hearings before they decide.
