Homosexuality is a disordered condition. They don't belong in the priesthood. Not good candidates for maintaining chastity. How do you explain the likely thousands of celibate homosexuals who are serving today, and who have served down through the centuries?

Very difficult to gather any reliable research data on that. But the Church Doctrine, Teaching, and Law, as you well know, my dear Sinkspur, is there to set forth an ideal, and just because it cannot be perfectly enforced at all times is no reason to give in and condone it.
This is NOT HOMO BASHING. They just shouldn't be priests. If that means the Church has fewer priests, so be it.

Exceptions do not make the rule. The fact that people with this disorder are often able to do many priestly duties well does not mean that such persons with this disorder should be ordained. That would be a non sequitur.
