The MSM has two big reasons for squashing this story:

1) As Rutles4Ever mentioned, it shows that the Bush admin's WOT is justified.

2) Reporting it focuses (negative) attention on one of the Left's bosom buddies (or at least friends of convenience) -- Islamofascists.

Like I said on the other thread...the MSM would rather spend hours focusing on a soda can full of spit in Penn Station than to cover this LEGITIMATE story, and the mounting evidence of an actual terrorist attack in the heart of our nation. (Real explosives, Islamic ties, and even a fatality here...but it's not newsworthy.) I'm ANGRY.

Every FBI investigation has a degree of confidentiality, and that doesn't stop the media from covering them. I'm starting to put the media's disinterest in this story down to liberal bias, political correctness, and fear of CAIR.

This is where I get confused. One person says that the MSM is suppressing the OU bomber story because it shows that Bush's WOT is justified, while another person complains that the MSM is spending hours instead on a possible security/terror problem in NYC subways and Penn Station. That's where I get confused: Doesn't that also justify Bush's WOT?

Yes it does. But it also makes many more people, many of them media types and/or Democrats, feel personally threatened. Try to blow up a bunch of Rednecks in Oklahoma at a Football game, they could care less. Only thing that would make it less impact on them would be if they tried to blow up the crowed at a NASCAR race.

I know what you're saying, but I think that the exersize in NYC is going to do more to make the gov't look silly than anything else. People are getting fed up with increased security inspection, cops and security officers falling all over themselves trying to resond to a threat that comes from a source that has been described as of "doubtful credibility", all the while it appears that nothing ever happens...
