Are you honestly going to try to convince me that Harriet Miers is bad for our country but somehow Ruth Bader Ginsburg was good for our country?
Wow, still with the "straw man" arguments, hunh? Where did I say Ginsburg was "qualified"? She stinks. So does Miers.

Yeah, how about Ginsburg? I don't remember the conservative base and Republican Senators putting up a fight against her nomination. In fact, almost all of the latter voted in her favor. The Republicans confirmed her as a gift to Clinton and the Democrats, not because she was "good for the country". Where was the outrage then?
Ginsburg is bad if we continued to have more justices like her drawing on intl. law, but we knew what we were getting with the general counsel for the aclu, and she is well thought of professionally. that being said, we need some differences in judical philosophy on the court and she was replacing lewis powell on the court, another liberal, so it was not a loss to have her there and she is a beacon of judicial ethics/professionalism/integrity..
now if we can get JP Stevens to retire or hurry up and croak, we hopefully tilt the balance with a replacement for him...
