Why even transit targets? I know the old military anoxiom "He who protects everything, protects nothing" but I am not sure, barring actually passing a FEDERAL concealed carry law, that this will do much more than have people jumping at shadows.

Which might be exactly what the damn terrorists want. Yom Kippur is coming up. Look at the recent threatcon, we have a possible attack in Norman, OK, we have possible incidents in Philly and Penn, both are "suspicious package" nature. But the intell is still there, and it's got the pro's concerned. Something's up. Al-Queda does have a historical facination with trains (Madrid and London) so it seems on the face, Why not?

Then again, this could be an effort to draw police resources away from synogogues in the Jewish parts of Brooklyn. This damn stuff can have one jumping at bloody shadows. In any case, stay observant. Ramadan and Yom Kippur intersect this year, so does the anniversery of Bush ordering strikes on Afghanistan. Jihadihamster trifecta...
