They wouldn't make an announcement, beef up security, ask people to voluntarily leave home briefcases, baby strollers, etc., unless there was a credible threat and they hadn't caught everyone and were certain the plan was completely disrupted.

Yes, and there are all those NYPD units to explain. IMO, they're playing both ends... don't exasperate the citizens to keep things moving along, but there is a threat, or they'd all be searching for donuts instead. That's the disconnect.

And they think we're stupid. They treat us like children...that's their m.o. They won't tell us the truth, only half/part-truths. It really makes me sick that they won't just come out and be plain-spoken....keeping back info. necessary is one thing, masking the facts for spoon feeding is quite another.
