White House denies Bush God claim The White House has dismissed as "absurd" allegations made in a BBC TV series that President Bush claimed God told him to invade Iraq.
"He's never made such comments," White House spokesman Scott McClellan said.
The comments were attributed to Mr Bush by the Palestinian negotiator Nabil Shaath in the upcoming TV series Elusive Peace: Israel and the Arabs.
Mr Shaath said that in a 2003 meeting with Mr Bush, the US president said he was "driven with a mission from God".
Holy war?
"President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan. And I did, and then God would tell me, George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq... And I did.
"'And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East. And by God I'm gonna do it.'"

Bashing Bush Constantly
Buffoon Broadcasting Commies
Saw Bush in a black suit, hat and sunglasses listening to blues records.
Words spoken by an Arab minister are untrue. Shocker.
At least he didnt say the devil made me do it.
I don't mind the BBC doing a story on Nabil's claims. That is a story. However, the White House should have been allowed a comment in the first story....
I didn't believe it when I saw the headline so didn't bother reading the article.
Maybe it will dawn on him that "Palestinians" lie.
Always. About everything.
You must see this Video on Palestinian propaganda and their media (CBS) stooges.
BBC= Bitter Bill Clinton,
lovers
New Presidential Limo.
New Presidential advisers.
All lies all the time..they'd lie even if the truth would
get them more....
imo
"300 catered guests, 6 limousines, left me and my family at the back of the mosque...to go on a mission for whom?" "Now you get yours."
Not this sh*t again. This was floated back during the election.
You know, I'm not sure how to corroborate this, but those remarks attributed to Bush really remind me of the text of that infamous "Hitler" ad that Move-On had up on its website during the 2004 presidential race.
The BBC has no long term vision with Iraq.
I don't believe Bush got his message from God but I believes his long term goal with Iraq lined up with his belief in God.
"George, you need make this thing go away. And another thing, George, how about we keep our chats a little more private, OK? Pat Robertson is getting jealous."
