This _ALWAYS_ seems to happen: "wrestling defeat from the jaws of victory." It seems that the Republican Party has been so used to being in the minority that they do not know how to rule when they are in the majority everywhere but the Supreme Court.
The Democrats have nothing of substance going for them, and much to the chagrin of Conservative Democrats, the party is beholden to idiots like Michael Moron and Moron.org.
Meanwhile: the Republican leaders in the Senate act like whipped dogs anytime their is a whiff of conflict; Bush, after ramrodding through The Patriot Act ignores border protection and labels the Minutemen as vigilantes; and The House spends money like drunken sailors.
What a mess. The writer of the article is right about the Right. This brawl is not about Ms. Miers its about lack of leadership and ignoring American's best interests.

Please do not confuse the Republican Party with Conservatives. There are too many RINOs and self-aggrandizing moonbats on our side of the aisle to trust them to follow the President if he nominated a well known conservative. A Robert Bork confirmation debacle would cripple the President at just the time that he does not have a lot of political capital to spend.
