No, he is a social conservative - just not a small-goverment libertarian. Which drives us small-government libertarians crazy, sometimes, but there is no question that Bush is an honorable man - something that can't be said of any Democrat that is spoken of as a Presidential contender.
You're absolutely right and I've pretty much known that about Bush all along. The social/cultural questions are important enough to me that I accept the other half of the man as he is. I like the President and I trust the President. I was hoping he'd pick Janice Rogers Brown for this vacancy but I trust that he selected someone who will fill the criteria he laid out in the campaign. I voted for Bush largely because I wanted him making these Supreme Court nominations.
