Woman gets probation in voter registration fraud case (Acorn)

DENVER - One of several defendants profiled in an I-Team investigation into widespread voter registration fraud has avoided jail time.

A Denver District Court judge on Wednesday sentenced Monique Mora, 20, to six months probation and 100 hours of community service.

Mora had pleaded guilty to filling out false voter registration forms prior to last November's election in order to earn extra money from a private group involved in registering voters.

According to prosecutors, Mora and another defendant filled out multiple voter registration forms using fraudulent or duplicate information. Both worked for Acorn, a liberal-leaning group ...

Acorn workers were paid based on the number of people they registered to vote, or in many cases, how many completed voter registration forms they submitted to the organization.
