You don't think tossing a blonde ponytail is a good substitute for logic?

I think she would do well having a few cheeseburgers with Wimpy.

What "achievements"?

Rich and famous.

That she works somewhat less these days is a sign that she can.

This has got to be one of the saddest threads ever, and it really does not speak well for the forum. It would seem that no one is safe from wrath if they should happen to disagree with some of you.

This forum has been in love with Ann Coulter for quite some time, and then because she happens to hold a view (which I agree with by the way) that many of you don't, she is now under attack? It is ridiculous, and it is not the kind of Conservatism that I want to be associated with.

If true-blue Conservatives like Coulter are only loved when they agree in lockstep, then just what is the point?

Or is this just some mutual admiration society, unable to cope with opposing points of view?

Well... I might be convinced, but it won't be by logic. =)

Great post and so true. There are many good conservatives disagreeing with Dubya on this pick.

That she works somewhat less these days is a sign that she can.

She has no choice. Other than her books, she has to scrounge for somebody to publish her vitriolic columns.

She may be wealthy, but she appears to be very unhappy.

She's still searching for her mate, the perfect Rottweiler.

Coulters comments are not the type of comments one would expect from a well educated, intelligent individual..

Specifically what?

I have always admired Ann Coulter - until I listened to her on Hannity's radio show yesterday and then watched her continue her tirade on Hannity and Colmes. She was acting like a spoiled brat that did not get picked as prom queen. The capper was saying that she thinks that "Bush just hates conservatives". Mix that with her calls for Bush's impeachment on Mike Rosen's show and you have someone that is much worse than those that believe in the "trust me" theory. Respectful disagreement is one thing - absolutely nasty hatefulness is another.

She is not just differing with the President. Are you reading her statements? She is vicious and savage, way off the deep end. She is more vicious with Miers and GWB than the lowliest scuzzy left winger, and it is not necessary. Just say you disagree and give lucid reasons why. She makes nutcases like Pat Buchanan look sane. She sounds like George Soros could have hired her.

Ann will also attack her opponents any way she can be it ad hominem or straw man. whatever it takes to discredit the other side instead of debating on the facts. Sometimes it's funny, other times it's transparent.

Sadly, Ann Coulter has become the conservative Al Franken. She's shrill, shallow and simply not very likable anymore. Frankly there's not much difference between Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Liar and How to Talk to a Liberal. They both try to accomplish the same thing via the same means.

Her greatest line was, "To liberals history started this morning." She hasn't had much interesting to offer since.

AC did very well in law school and has had a great career as an author. Evidently couldn't cut it in the courtroom or her bio would be refer to those successes. Takes a lot of nerve to dismiss someone's trial career as mediocre when she didn't have what it takes to get it done there.

"Thomas Lifson, Thomas Lifson? Sorry, kid, I've heard of Ann Coulter; who are you?"

He's significant enough for Rush Limbaugh to read his column over the air.

I'm torn between cutting Ann Coulter (a hot conservative babe) and GW Bush (an admirable President) some slack. I think I'll cut them both some slack and see where this nomination goes.

There is no question that GWB believes he has nominated a high quality conservative and that Ann believes he made a mistake.

I hope Ann is wrong and that she keeps thinking.

Tell her, since you're such an admirer, to stop gratutiously referring to "Bush's boozing." That smarmy remark had nothing to do with the point she was making, and was a shot at the President.

And get her off her Ivy League high horse. Nobody gives a damn that she went to Cornell, especially since she has squandered her legal training to engage in political warfare.

Coulter has ruined herself with her hysterical opposition to Roberts and Miers.

She'll be reduced to ghostwriting in her next career.

If you compare Lifson and Coulter in this exchange, Lifson sounds like the pompous jerk ("I have the Ivy League sheepskins on my wall") and Coulter sounds like the down to Earth realist ("analyzing constitutional and federal law at the level of the SC is a job for a complex mind").

(BTW, I agree with Lifson about the that/which point, and think Coulter overstepped her argument here).

Coulter is a brilliant mind, and conservatives should be thankful to have her. Yes, she is a polemicist, and has the edge which (that?) goes with the job.

Her fundamental point is that W just does not get to do what he wants without explaining himself, or least if he does so, he cannot expect intelligent people to refrain from calling him on it.

It is W who is treating conservatives as if they were idiots. Liberals and leftists are so far out there, it almost is absurd to bother with them. But W purports to be a conservative, and that means he is held to a higher standard, a standard of integrity and rationality.

Politics is NOT, fundamentally, a matter of personality, according to the conservative pov. (Yet the conservatives who are being treated like idiots, cling to the personality of W.) That is why we can criticize our guys, and leftists can never criticize theirs. Havent you ever noticed that distinction, and wondered why it was a fact?

Oooh. I'm getting a headache from all this. I must confess to the fact of going back and forth every day on the presidents choice. I just heard Ken Star singing Miss Miers praises. He thinks she's absolutely divine! He's a brilliant lawyer and says he knows her very well. Ann my idol hates her!...........For someone who admits to not knowing very much about the inner workings of the Supreme Court.....HELP!!... Is it the fact that she isn't intellectual enough?! Not up to the task. Or is whats bothering conservatives and making them so angry, the fact that theyv'e been burned so many times in the past and don't really know how this woman will vote? Or is it both?!.........Hubby just made me laugh. He said it's like if you dated someone for 10 years, sent her flowers and candy, wined and dined her with expensive dinners......then after all that she turns around and marrys somebody else.Like the guy that mowes the lawn! You feel angry and betrayed. And vow never to do that again.

Very few women were able to enter law school when Miers was at that age. Very, very few could get into the top schools. Those of Miers age who went to, and graduated from, law schools prior to the mid 60's are to be admired.

Coulter graduated from University of Michigan, a fine law school. However, it appears she missed a few classes on debating skills..
