Kansas Speedway
Race Menu for the weekend series
Kansas Speedway boasts great views from every seat and easy access in and out of the 1 1/2-mile,
state-of-the-art facility, a response to growing interest for motorsports entertainment in the Midwest.
Though the tri-oval track design is not unique to Kansas Speedway,
a slight difference in the banking makes this track unique.

I just heard a radio report that the Charlotte race may involve restrictor plates. Apparently, in preparation of that track's resurfacing, it's been ground down. According to the radio report, Tony Stewart and another driver tested on the new surface and put two cars EACH into the wall. Not good...

Just trying to catch up...played the Highlands AND the Brute over here at Grand Geneva on Sat...
What is "COT"???
Also, VERY interesting item in prior post from Jayski about a "MOCK" Daytona race...could this be the first trial racing with NO RESTRICTOR plates at Daytona???
Please advise...I think I still have three golf balls left that need to be hit into the woods, water, prarie grass or condos...back later...

Roush announces Cup changes for 2007 season
McMurray to drive the No. 97; Kluever to take over the No. 6
By Dave Rodman, NASCAR.COM
October 8, 2005
KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Jack Roush on Saturday wouldn't be drawn into discussing NASCAR's proposed future limits on team ownership, but he confirmed a change of plans in his Nextel Cup lineup for 2007.
In a post-qualifying news conference at Kansas Speedway, Roush said Jamie McMurray would drive Roush Racing's No. 97 Ford in 2007 while Todd Kluever, a current Roush driver in the Craftsman Truck Series, would drive the team's No. 6 Ford.
Roush Racing president Geoff Smith previously said Kluever would race a full Busch Series schedule in 2006 and Saturday, Roush said that Kluever probably would mimic Roush driver Carl Edwards in 2007 by contesting full schedules in both Nextel Cup and the Busch Series.
Roush previously had said Mark Martin would continue in the No. 6 Ford in 2006 while Kurt Busch would fulfill his contractual obligations in the No. 97 Ford. In a Sept. 27 conversation on NASCAR.COM, Smith said if everything could be worked out, Busch might be released from his contract, but it wasn't likely.
"Our short-term plan is that Todd Kluever will be in the 6 car in 2007," Roush said. "Mark will be in the car in 2006 and Todd will run a Busch Grand National program full-time in 2006 and, most likely, in 2007 he'll do the same sort of thing that Carl did this year [run both series]."
McMurray, meanwhile, has said he's resigned to race Chip Ganassi Racing's No. 42 Dodge in 2006, per his contract, which Ganassi has said he won't release McMurray from.

"A Prayer For The Drivers"
This is a prayer to say before every race begins
To keep all the drivers safe and God bless whoever wins
So bow your heads with me, and together we will ask
That God protect every driver for each and every lap...
"Dear God in heaven we ask you to watch over this track
and keep these drivers safe and sound for every single lap
watch them and protect them with your caring watchful eye
and bless them each and every time a green flag lap goes by
we pray there are no cautions because of a crash
and let them continue to race this race until the very last
so which ever driver makes his way to Victory Lane
we, the fans, know you heard our prayer
and blessed us all the same...

COT = Car Of the Future.
If they made these cars boxy enough, they might not have those damn plates at Tona/Dega anymore.

Driver fistfight/Helmet chucking pool:
Fierce Allegiance - 4 Total drives points penalty = 150
I have a feeling today is going to bring a real ugly race.
